Pagan Fertility Rites

Just when you thought it was spring, it’s now winter again. Which, you know, works just fine for Good Friday, but makes precisely zero sense for Easter. Clearly, the post-Constantine Catholics who decided that it would be a prudent move to incorporate pagan fertility rites into their religion were not thinking outside their small Mediterranean sphere. So narrow-minded in their syncretism. Did they not foresee that their apostasy would go global?
