Holy Moly

I just glanced at my calendar, and noticed that June rocks, if you are a Catholic nerd who loves celebrating the various feast days (or memorials etc).

The first three Sundays are: Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, and Corpus Christi. If that weren’t enough, we have a smattering of other kick-ass feasts and memorials. St. Thomas More on the 22nd. The Most Sacred Heart on the 23rd. The Nativity of St. John the Baptist on the 24th. St. Irenaeus on the 28th. Ss. Peter and Paul on the 29th. And the Protomartyrs of the Church of Rome on the 30th. And those are just the ones of interest to me.

Others include St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Boniface, St. Ephrem, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, and St. Cyril of Alexandria.

Granted that it makes total sense that saint’s feast days are minimized throughout Lent and Easter, what an amazing comeback the Church makes in June.
